Poldark Teaser Trailer: What Can We Expect From Series 3?
Seagazing, cliff-top galloping, and a bare male chest. Ah, the familiar Poldark tropes. All is well with the world.
But wait! That's not Ross' bare chest. Young Drake, Demelza's brother, is bathing in a stream – although curiously, he's left his trousers on. He's a sight for sore eyes among the young ladies, especially Morwenna, with whom he exchanges meaningful looks, and a bit more besides.
George is not happy about it, but neither would we expect him to be. Maybe his new baby will cheer him up a bit, although it remains to be seen whether it's actually his baby or not. "Cursed he be!" says Aunt Agatha, which could mean the baby really is George's. The look on Elizabeth's face says she fears the same. Time will tell if baby Valentine grows a cascade of dark tousled curls.
Speaking of which, there they are, dangling in his face and almost doing the talking for him as Ross and Demelza recommit to each other. After his infidelity with Elizabeth, Ross has had some making up to do, so no wonder he looks his usual dishevelled self. Not only that, but the French revolution is brewing, which calls for some earnest gazing at the horizon in a tricorn hat and heavy coat.
Is there to be no rest for Ross? Maybe some of the new characters will take the pressure off him. It's great to see some old faces, too – including dishy Doctor Enys, who seems floored by Caroline's reappearance. Who can blame him? It's great to see them all back.
